As Registered Nurses in the PACU department at Kaiser Riverside, we demand to Cease and Desist the Unsafe Assignment and changes in working conditions that OR and L&D Management agreed upon, and actions for PACU Nurses to recover C-section patients without prior notification, experience or training in this field and failure to include Labor with the agreement.

This is a Scope of Practice Violation and an Unsafe Assignment which jeopardizes patient safety and a discrepancy between patient’s needs and nurse’s skill set.

The expectation of PACU nurses to recover patients from the L&D department with no prior training is dangerous for all parties involved.

We, the undersigned RN’s of Kaiser Riverside’s PACU, as patient advocates demands consistent, safe and legal assignment for the patients under our care.
